You can't go back in time and change the beginning, but you can start now and change where you're going. I'm here to show you how.

My Journey
My early years in the Philippines were a constant search for a place to call home.

I moved from one relative’s house to another, never really settling, always adapting. I learned how to survive in environments that didn’t always feel stable, carrying a quiet question with me: Where do I belong?

Without strong direction, I made choices that didn’t always serve me, navigating life influenced by what was around me rather than where I truly wanted to go.

Then everything changed.

I was given a second chance, not just in a new place, but in a new country.

Moving to Australia gave me the opportunity to reset, rebuild, and choose a different path. And I took it.

I used everything I had been through as fuel to move forward. The same experiences that once felt like setbacks became the foundation for growth.

Because when you’re given a chance, you can make a change.

That’s what shaped my perspective. Your past doesn’t define you, but it can shape you.

Your struggles aren’t the end of your story, they are part of your edge.

Now, I share my journey to create space for others to reflect on their own, to recognise their resilience, and to see the potential in the path they’ve already walked.
Inspiring Resilience Through Connection

Resilience Workshop

Resilience Workshop

This isn’t a workshop about being told what to do. It’s a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your own story.  My sessions are built around sharing my journey, growing up in the Philippines, navigating limited choices, facing real adversity, and then stepping into a completely new chapter by moving to a new country. A second chance that came with its own challenges, uncertainty, and pressure to choose a different path. What I carried forward wasn’t certainty, it was the resilience built through those earlier experiences. That same resilience became the foundation for changing my direction and building a better future. Not because my path is the answer, but because it creates space for others to see their own journey in a different light. Through honest storytelling, I create an environment where people can step back and ask themselves meaningful questions. Where have I come from? What have I overcome? What am I capable of? What This Experience Creates Perspective, seeing your challenges in a new light. Connection, realising you are not alone in your struggles. Reflection, taking the time to acknowledge how far you have come. Ownership, recognising the power you have to shape what comes next. Appreciation, valuing your journey, not just your destination. This is not about motivation that fades after the room clears. It is about creating a moment that stays with you, one that helps you recognise your own resilience, your own growth, and your own potential.

It is an absolute honour to write about someone as extraordinary as John—a man whose resilience, kindness, and generosity have left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path, including myself. John has turned the trials of his past into a beacon of hope for others. Instead of allowing hardship to define him, he chooses to rise above it—and in doing so, he now helps others rise with him. His story is one of courage, perseverance and purpose. By openly sharing his journey, he brings inspiration and empowerment to countless young people, especially those facing similar struggles. He meets them not with pity, but with respect, and belief in their potential. What sets John apart is not just his strength, but his positivity, and kind heart. He gives tirelessly—not for recognition, but because he believes in the power of community and the importance of lifting others. He has never forgotten where he came from. Despite the challenges facing his homeland of the Philippines, John remains deeply committed to giving back to the children of the Philippines. Through mentorship, outreach, and direct support, he is building bridges of opportunity and growth for those who need it most. The world is better because of John, and the seeds he plants in others will continue to grow for generations to come.

A highlight of the program for me was when John visited and shared his story about growing up. Hearing about his life made me stop and think about my own experiences, and it left me feeling really grateful for what I have.

We were so fortunate to have John Cacho visit our Brisbane South Senior Y School Campus to share his Resonate to Resilience presentation with our students. From the moment he began speaking, John had every student fully engaged. His storytelling was not only inspiring and motivational, but it also really connected with our young people in a way that felt genuine and powerful. The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive—they found John’s message relatable, uplifting, and something they could take with them beyond the classroom. His ability to hold their attention, spark reflection, and encourage resilience was truly special. Thank you, John, for making such a positive impact on our campus. We are grateful for the experience and would welcome you back anytime.

He speaks with honesty, warmth, and humour, drawing students in and leaving them genuinely inspired to reflect on their own lives. His ability to turn personal challenges into opportunities for growth is something the students connect with deeply, and they walk away motivated to embrace new possibilities, pursue their goals, and believe in their own potential.
